Here’s my new guitar. It’s a Japanese made Fender Mustang. This model is a ‘65 reissue. I love this little guitar. It’s the easiest playing guitar that I’ve ever played, and it sounds wonderful! Read more »

Well the NFL Draft is upon us and I am stoked! I love the draft. I actually enjoy the draft more than the Superbowl most years. The Superbowl is a bittersweet goodbye. The draft is the promise of hope and the first blooms on the ever flowering tre…..uh…nevermind.
I have nearly every minute between now and 3 pm eastern time scheduled out so that I can accomplish my myriad husbandly tasks and still get a seat for six straight hours of drafty goodness! Read more »

Well, some of them at least…
Yahoo’s main page linked to a Huffington Post entry regarding the Democratic debates. I can’t say that readers of the Huffington Post are necessarily representative of the Democrats. But, it seems that they are representative of the far left in this country, and what those people think is frighteningly scary. Check out some of these comments below. Read more »

According to an AP report released today Bruce Sprinsteen is endorsing Barack Obama. Thankfully, tramps like us now know who to vote for.
Can anyone tell me why this matters? This is the equivalent of Bill Dance endorsing John McCain. Has Bruce Sprinsteen done anything of note in the last ten years? The only time that I hear his name is when he is sticking his nose into the political arena. What are his political qualifications? Just because you wrote “Brothers Under the Bridge” doesn’t make you a great political mind.

At a recent protest of Scientology a member of Anonymous was shocked to find a picture of his face along with his real name and address on the sign of a fellow protester. He crossed the street and walked up the avenue all the while noticing that the “Anonymous Protesters” holding the sign followed him. He alerted friends who watched the supposed protester’s later walk into the Sceintology center that was being protested. Thus, he was able to confirm his suspicion that these “protesters” were actually Scientology operatives.
If you think that this incident described above sounds bizarre just read the rest of Gareth Alan Cales accounting of this event here. It involves car chases, poisoned pets, and other “crimes.” It’s a pretty amazing story that gives us a glimpse of just how serious these folks take thier protesting, and their “religion.”

I am very pleased to find so many people and websites devoted to guitar design; particularly ergonomic guitar designs. But, despite the many new and different designs I see most guitars still have the same ‘ol standard scale lengths. I’ve been meaning to address this for a while, but I just haven’t had the time to sit down and write. Not that there is a great deal that needs to be said. This isn’t a treatise on guitar design. It is simply an argument in favor of more experimentation with differing scale lengths. Read more »

Am I the only one that dislikes the trend towards putting news stories on video? For instance, if I go to my page and there is a headline that interests me I will click on it and read the article. But, If there is a video then another window will put up. I’ll have to adjust my volume. Then there will be a thirty second commercial for life insurance that I have to listen to before I get the information that I actually want.
Then there is the quality of the video. Often times the actual picture quality isn’t very good. But, worse is the likelihood that the headline was misleading and the story doesn’t really give me the information that I want. Now, I just sat through three and a half minutes of video that I wasn’t interested in. If the article was I text article I would have know that instantly and would have moved on.
Am I the only one who finds these video links annoying?
Don’t get me wrong. I’ll sit down and watch videos on YouTube. I enjoy YouTube. But, in those circumstances it is my choice to watch the videos and I’m not subjected to a thirty-second video.

I read a new article recently entitled, The Mystery of Global Warming’s Missing Heat. The basis of the article is that scientists have been expecting to see a rise in the oceans average temperature but that rise hasn’t happened. Here is the first paragraph of the article: Read more »

I’ll never vote for Barack Obama. It has nothing to do with the color of his skin, and everything to do with his politics.
I think that this simple sentence above needs to read, and repeated. Read more »

The co-creator of the popular game Dungeons and Dragons passed away today. He passed away in his Lake Geneva home at the age of 69. He is survived by his wife and six children.
Word is that he was killed by a lowly one hit-die orc with a short sword. A sad way to go for a mighty hero.
Sorry, for the joke, but I think that Gary wouldn’t have minded.
This is a bit of a sad day for me. I have to admit that I was a D&D nerd, though I was very good at hiding it. I still managed to have “normal friends.” Saturday afternoons were filled with Cheetos and Dr. Peppers and 9 straight hours of playing Galawin Galehair. Saturday nights were filled with cruising for chicks and chasing down keggers. Read more »
