Well, my beloved Skins are out of the playoffs having once again lost to the Seahawks in Seattle. That game was one of the most boring and frustrating games ever….for the first three quarters. The fourth quarter was one of the most exciting that I’ve seen in a long, long time. It was a good game, even if my team didn’t win.
Congratulations to the Seahawks. They are a good team. They don’t get the credit that they deserve.
I’m very pleased with the performance of the Redskins this season. I had no expectation that they would have a winning record or that they would go to the playoffs, and that was before all of the tragedy started. No one would have batted an eye if they had packed it in after the death of Sean Taylor. Instead they rallied and won four straight games after his funeral and made it to the playoffs. They were battered and broken and held together with bailing wire, but they made it.
Look out next year after the Skins get seven draft picks (they usually only have about four) and an extra year under the same (holding my breath….) coaching staff. But, this team will need to win the division to have a real shot at going far into the playoffs, and that isn’t an easy thing to do in the very competitive NFC East.
