Am I the only one that dislikes the trend towards putting news stories on video? For instance, if I go to my page and there is a headline that interests me I will click on it and read the article. But, If there is a video then another window will put up. I’ll have to adjust my volume. Then there will be a thirty second commercial for life insurance that I have to listen to before I get the information that I actually want.
Then there is the quality of the video. Often times the actual picture quality isn’t very good. But, worse is the likelihood that the headline was misleading and the story doesn’t really give me the information that I want. Now, I just sat through three and a half minutes of video that I wasn’t interested in. If the article was I text article I would have know that instantly and would have moved on.
Am I the only one who finds these video links annoying?
Don’t get me wrong. I’ll sit down and watch videos on YouTube. I enjoy YouTube. But, in those circumstances it is my choice to watch the videos and I’m not subjected to a thirty-second video.
